“Stoke House Carcoar” has evolved from developments initiated by Thomas Icely in the late 1820’s and expanded by his family from the 1850’s. As such it has played an important role in the development of this historically significant village. Once again it is actively involved in providing services and accommodation to the inhabitants and visitors to our enchanting and picturesque domain.
The main building was initially the “Victoria Hotel” (1846-1875), then was expanded and renamed the “Stoke Hotel” (1875 -1937) and (1944 -1952). After this it became a private dwelling and was renamed “Stoke House”.
The old hotel now houses four ensuited B&B rooms as well as lounge rooms both upstairs and down and a downstairs dining room. A café has been added to the rear of the building with manager’s quarters above.
Dining is available within the café as well as on the surrounding verandahs or in the cottage style gardens adjoining the café.
Two, two bed roomed self contained cottages are located on the site to the rear of the main buildings. These are ideal for small groups or families and are available on an overnight or short term occupancy basis.
